Founded in 2001, TAG was the brainchild of a seasoned property tax professional with a vision for aiding businesses in minimizing their property taxes.
Drawing from his experience as a Texas-based county property tax assessor, our founder recognized that businesses in the state were not excercising their right under the state’s property tax code to file their annual business personal property taxes based on a good faith estimate of fair market value.
Instead, businesses were providing the county their cost data allowing the county to set the market value of their property – an approach that typically results in annual valuations that are 30% above independent ASA-certified market value studies.
With this insight, he embarked on a mission to empower businesses in the state to excercise their filing rights to minimize their property taxes.
Fast forward to today, and TAG’s footprint has grown beyond Texas to the entire country. Today we stand as the largest firm in the country solely focused on business personal and real estate property taxes with more than $19B currently under asset management for more than 700 of the nation’s leading brands.
